In June MICROMINE Africa visited South32 Hotazel Manganese mines in the Northern Cape. Following on from this visit, a discussion ensued around which device would best fit the business and how the software can be designed to best suit their requirements.

South32 Hotazel Manganes Mine previously purchased four Geobank Mobile licenses back in 2017 but have had subsequent issues around the cost effectiveness and compatibility of devices that suited their needs and network. In August 2018 MICROMINE Africa, purchased a device to trial and to take to the market as an alternative to the run of the mill devices out there.
On the 13th and 14th of September 2018, MICROMINE Africa invited Aiden O’Donnell a geologist from South32 to attend some training of Geobank Mobile. When we spoke to Aiden about his experience with MICROMINE Africa he had this to say, “I want to thank you and your team for hosting me last week for the Geobank Mobile training. The experience was all round a great one. The team was super helpful and always cheerful! The facilities are top notch and somehow Danie seemed to know the answer to my questions before I could even ask them. I will definitely be finding any excuse to be back soon (and not just for the gift and the lunch).”
Aiden has subsequently taken the device back to the mine with him for a trial period, and we can hope he is putting it through its paces. A full report on the trial will follow upon its return and we will advise on the best way for the device to be used in their operation.
